Thematic Advisory Board on Fundraising and Distribution of Non Reimbursable Resources

The ad hoc Thematic Advisory Board on Fundraising and Distribution of Non Reimbursable Resources will work to develop inputs to inform decision making by the National REDD+ Committee on matters related to fundraising of REDD+ results-based payments and distribution of benefits.

This Advisory Board will focus on supporting the definition, by the National REDD+ Committee, of criteria, rules and guidelines related to:

i) Eligibility to access REDD+ results-based payments for results recognized under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change achieved by Brazil;

ii) Fundraising for REDD+ results-based payments; and

iii) Use of REDD+ results-based payments resources.

The Thematic Advisory Board on Fundraising and Distribution of Non Reimbursable Resources is composed of 30 members. The selection of the members was based on the criteria set by the National REDD+ Committee to include:

a) professionals with a background in operating small, medium and large Brazilian environmental Funds;

b) specialists in international climate finance;

c) economists and specialists in economic instruments for environmental conservation and intergovernmental resource transfers;

d) indigenous people’s, traditional communities’, and smallholders’ representatives;

e) specialists in climate change and forests related public policies.

The ad hoc Thematic Advisory Board on Fundraising and Distribution of Non Reimbursable Resources operated for one year during which time it developed and provided Resolutions no. 6, no. 7 and no. 8 (Portuguese only) to the National REDD+ Committee.
